Two $1 Million Mega Millions Prizes on December 9, 2022

The December 9, 2022 Mega Millions drawing produced two Match 5 tickets while no ticket won the jackpot.

The winning white balls were reported as 8, 19, 53, 61 and 69, with Mega Ball 19.

Pennsylvania and California Match 5 tickets

One Match 5 ticket was reported as sold in Pennsylvania and another in California.

Neither ticket used the optional Megaplier feature described in the 2022 game, so each was reported as a $1 million prize.

Smaller prizes were also reported in Michigan, and the jackpot rolled to the next drawing.

Verification status

Not every ticket detail has been confirmed against primary state lottery records. The details above are based on reports at the time.

The 2022 rules are obsolete

At the time, Mega Millions used a $2 ticket, a 1-through-25 Mega Ball pool and an optional Megaplier.

Those facts are no longer current. Since April 2025, a play costs $5, the Mega Ball is selected from 1 through 24 and every play includes a random multiplier for non-jackpot prizes.
