Can You Play Mega Millions from France? ANJ Rules and Foreign Lottery Access
France's regulated gambling market does not provide a simple route for an overseas website to sell Mega Millions access to French residents.
France operates a lottery monopoly
The Autorité nationale des jeux, or ANJ, regulates gambling in France. Its material identifies lottery products outside the Française des Jeux monopoly as outside the legal online market.
Our September 2026 review did not verify an ANJ authorized Mega Millions ticket courier serving people physically in France.
Official US online sales are not available from France
Some US lotteries sell Mega Millions online, but those systems generally require the user to be physically located in the selling state or jurisdiction. They should not be presented as an international checkout.
Third party couriers are separate. If one advertises access from France, the service still needs to be checked for French authorization and current country eligibility.
Tax treatment should not be oversimplified
ANJ related material indicates that ordinary gambling winnings are generally treated differently from professional gambling income in France. We did not, however, verify a French tax authority ruling that lets us state a universal tax result for a US Mega Millions jackpot.
US federal withholding and possible state taxes are separate from French tax treatment.
What a French reader should check
Before relying on a commercial service, verify the operator, ANJ status, whether a real US ticket is bought, the purchasing state, ticket ownership, fees and the process for a major claim.
PlayMegaMillionsOnline.com did not verify a current France eligible, ANJ authorized route for buying Mega Millions tickets. The page therefore serves as an information guide rather than a transaction guide.
